It may even be used as a substitute for dry shrink prep.
Recommended for use with Opti-Coat Slip Solution Concentrate
Compatible Applications
• Paint Protection Film (PPF)
• Automotive Window Film
• Flat Glass Window Film
• Windshield Protection Film
The Problem with Conventional Slip Solutions
Traditional slip solutions, such as baby shampoo or dish soap mixtures contain detergents and additives that can negatively impact adhesive performance. They often require excessive moisture, increasing the risk of damaging vehicle electronics and delicate interior materials. Additionally, these solutions tend to tack too quickly or inconsistently, making precise film positioning difficult and increasing the likelihood of installation defects.
Product Overview
Opti-Coat Slip Gel is a high-viscosity slip gel formulated specifically for film installation applications. It provides significantly extended working time, superior adhesive compatibility, and cleaner installs while allowing installers to use substantially less moisture during the installation process. Slip Gel is fully compatible and can be used in conjunction with Opti-Coat Slip Solution Concentrate.
Key Benefits
Extended Working Time
Opti-Coat Slip Gel offers dramatically extended working time, up to 25 times longer than conventional slip solutions. This allows installers additional time to accurately place, align, and reposition films without rushing, resulting in higher-quality installations and reduced rework.
Superior Adhesive Performance
Formulated with no detergents or adhesive-degrading ingredients, Opti-Coat Slip Gel works in harmony with modern film adhesives. This ensures proper bonding strength and long-term performance for window films, PPF, and windshield protection films.
Cleaner Installation
The gel formulation traps dirt and debris, preventing contaminants from bonding to adhesives. During squeegeeing, dirt is carried away within the gel solution, resulting in cleaner installs and fewer visible imperfections.
Safer Installation with Reduced Moisture
Opti-Coat Slip Gel allows installers to use significantly less water inside vehicles. This is especially valuable when installing films on windshields, large rear windows, or roll-up windows where excess moisture can damage electronics, switches, leather, vinyl, or fabric. Reduced moisture also minimizes prep time and the need for extensive masking of sensitive materials. In testing, soak ropes used during windshield film installation remained noticeably drier compared to installations using conventional slip solutions.
Improved Film Positioning
The Slip Gel provides optimal balance between tack and slip. Films remain securely positioned on surfaces such as glass or paint while still allowing ample time for repositioning. Unlike conventional solutions that either tack too quickly, causing lift lines or creases, or require excessive solution that causes films to fall or detach, Opti-Coat Slip Gel maintains consistent control throughout the installation process.
Enhanced Wet Shrinking Performance
With its higher viscosity and resistance to drying, Opti-Coat Slip Gel improves wet shrinking performance for window films and windshield protection films. It aids in heat dispersion during shrinking, allowing for more controlled and predictable results. This is particularly beneficial in high-heat applications such as windshield protection film installations.
Window Tinting Dry Shrink Prep
Opti-Coat Slip Gel is a safer, more effective alternative to traditional dry shrink prep methods such as dryer sheets. When dry shrinking window tint on windshields and rear windows, simply apply a thin coating of Slip Gel to the glass and allow to dry before placing the film on the glass. Slip Gel provides the ideal amount of float for smooth dry shrinking—without the mess or potential health risks of conventional methods.
Automotive Material Safe
Opti-Coat Slip Gel is safe for all automotive materials. Free of detergents and harmful additives, it will not stain or damage delicate surfaces. It also leaves no soapy residue, reducing cleanup time and minimizing the risk of customer vehicle damage.
Saves Time and Product
A single thin layer of Slip Gel provides an exceptionally long working time without the need for reapplication, unlike conventional slip solutions, saving both time and product.
Opti-Coat Slip Gel sets a new standard for professional film installation solutions. By combining extended working time, superior adhesive compatibility, cleaner installs, reduced moisture usage, and complete material safety, it delivers consistent, high-quality results across a wide range of film applications. For installers seeking precision, control, and protection, Opti-Coat Slip Gel is the superior choice.
DIRECTIONS:
Use Opti-Coat Slip Gel™ Solution on a cool vehicle, preferably in a controlled environment. Ready to use formula requires no mixing or dilution.
Spray liberally onto surface with a suitable sprayer or apply gel to the surface with a foam pad. Opti-Coat Slip Gel™ will provide a very long working time and installation ease on large panels or glass.
It is ideal for working on large panels such as hoods. It is also ideal for window tint installation such as on windshields where longer working time is needed without using excessive slip solution inside vehicles, around electronics or delicate materials.
